All collections include travel within 60 mile radius of Vinton, Iowa. Additional miles will be charged $1/mile. For any event more than 3 hours away, an additional lodging fee may be incurred. Thinking about an out-of-state photoshoot? You can request a quote for your location, just note it in the inquiry form below! I am a traveler myself. How far do you travel?

We do not suggest specific locations, we do recommend you think of locations that hold a special meaning for you and your loved ones. We do this so each photo holds a little more meaning. Our motive is comfortability and ease, if it's a location that means something to you, you've already found that sweet spot. Having a professional photoshoot is not an everyday occurrence, we aren't all comfortable in front of the camera, by picking a spot that's in your zone helps ease some of the stress or nervous thoughts.

Do you suggest locations?

No. Honestly we prefer if it isn't. The reason we picked up a camera was to document life how it truly is, not a crafted image of what it 'should' look like. We want the real. What does that mean? Do pick-up extra clutter, but remember we prefer a 'lived in house' where your styles and personalities shine through. We recommend clutter free floors (with the exception of 1 or 2 toys out for kids) and clutter free tabletops/countertops if you're cooking in the kitchen. If there's a shot we think would look better with less background distraction, we'll take a moment, readjust and continue, no worries.

Does my house need to be spotless for an in-home shoot?

Whether you're ready to schedule a photoshoot or inquiring, fill out the contact form below with all the goods (the who/what/when/why/where) and start the conversation. Once you've submitted the form, and your date is available, we'll send a small questionnaire to get to know you/your family better and to help plan your photoshoot. When you decide to book, we'll also send our What to Wear Guide - we know you got style, we're just here to help pair an outfit with the moment if you can't decide. Dates are all first come first serve.

How does it work? What's my next step?

We shoot with dual memory card cameras. If one card malfunctions your images are protected on the other. After a shoot we backup all images onto our computer and keep the memory cards stored until your gallery is delivered. Your images are presented via an online gallery and stored there as a third backup. Although stored there, we recommend downloading the entire gallery to your computer once you receive your link.

What do you do to protect/backup my images?

Lifestyle session clients can expect to receive their online gallery up to 10 days after the shoot. Wedding and elopement collections, please expect a 2-3 week turnaround time. We do limit the amount of wedding and elopement shoots we take so we can keep our turnaround time shorter than other photographers because—let's be real—we're just as excited about you seeing your photos as you are.

We have a photojournalistic approach, documenting life as we see it. We focus on authenticity and genuine movement/feelings and shirk away from stiff, posed looks. Instead we set the scene for natural interactions. We give small directions and let the moment unfold from there. We are laid back and down to earth.
